Stitch Markers, Wine Markers and Earrings
I've always had the uncanny ability to lose stitch markers while working on a project. Maybe because I bought those flimsy plastic ones sold in any craft store. Call it a nubie mistake, but I bought those evil plastic markers when I first tried my luck with intarsia knitting. Little did I know those little devils love to lose themselves from my grasp and hide under my couch or between the cushions to live with some loose change and the errant t.v. remote. They're ugly buggers, too, so when my sister came by a couple of weeks ago to raid my stash of jewelry-making supplies (I once had the thought of making handmade jewelry, but life got in the way), I said to myself, "Self, why don't you make your own markers and make them gorgeous!" So I did!
Since the stitch markers I made are from jewelry supplies, some even double as earrings! What's more, a friend saw them and not knowing what they were, thought they were wine markers (thanks, IC!). These little suckers are multi-functional! So use 'em as stitch markers or wine markers or earrings, even charms, you're limited to your imagination.
